Check the weather on World Clock for a quick overview, or open a city to see more detail.
See the weather at a glance
- Open World Clock. If you have selected another date or time, tap Now to return to the current moment.
- Find the city you want to check. If it is not in your list, tap + to add it.
- Read the weather symbol and temperature on the city’s card. The background gives you a quick visual impression of the weather:
- Partly cloudy: scattered clouds leave more of the sky visible.
- Cloudy: a thicker cloud layer covers more of the sky.
- Rain or snow: falling raindrops or snowflakes show precipitation.
- Fog or haze: a misty or hazy layer softens the scene.
- Wind: clouds drift with the wind. At wind speeds of 15 km/h or more, a drifting feather also appears to make the direction easier to see. The 15 km/h threshold falls within Beaufort force 3 (a gentle breeze). The feather drifts faster in stronger winds.
Open weather details
- Tap a saved city’s card to open its Information sheet.
- Find Current Weather near the top.
- Read the conditions and temperature, then check the available details such as feels-like temperature, humidity, wind, and the day’s low and high temperatures.
To open details for your current location, tap the information icon beside its name on the Local Time card when available.
Understand wind direction
Open a city’s Current Weather section and look for Wind. The value in km/h is the wind speed. The compass direction tells you where the wind comes from: an east wind comes from the east and blows toward the west; a northwest wind comes from the northwest and blows toward the southeast.
On the weather card, the layout places north at the top, south at the bottom, east on the left, and west on the right. Read the drifting feather’s overall movement using this layout:

Directions between these points produce diagonal movement. For example, a northwest wind moves the feather from the upper right toward the lower left.
The card uses a fixed layout; it does not change with the direction you point your phone. Clouds and wind-blown rain or snow can also drift sideways, but use the direction shown in weather details when you want to confirm the wind. Fog and haze are visual weather cues, not wind-direction indicators.
Check another time
- Return to World Clock and tap the Local Time card or its displayed time.
- Choose a date and time, then tap Done. You can also drag the vertical slider to explore times within that day.
- Read the weather on the city’s card, or open the city for more detail at the selected time.
- Tap Now when you want to return to current conditions.
Weather is only shown for times covered by the available forecast. If it is unavailable for your selection, try a time closer to now. Selecting a past date does not provide historical weather.
If weather is missing or looks out of date
- Check your internet connection, then pull down on the saved city list to refresh the weather.
- Tap Now to make sure you are looking at current conditions.
- If weather is still unavailable, try again later.
