Repeated prompts usually mean the required location was not saved, changed identity, or was authorized for a different copy of diCleaner.

Select the requested folder

When Home Folder Access is requested, choose your Home folder itself rather than Desktop, Documents, or another child folder. For a custom scan, choose the location named by the tool.

Cancelling the folder picker leaves the tool without that access and can cause the prompt to return next time.

Reset saved Home access

In the App Store edition:

  1. Open Settings → Privacy.
  2. Choose Remove Access for Home Folder Access.
  3. Quit diCleaner.
  4. Reopen it.
  5. Request access again and select the correct Home folder.
  6. Start a new scan.

Check for duplicate app copies

Delete or archive obsolete copies after confirming which edition you want to use. Keep the active copy in Applications and enable permissions for that exact copy.

Refresh Full Disk Access

Quit diCleaner, disable and re-enable the correct entry in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access, then reopen the app. Restart the Mac if the state remains stale.

Understand an empty result

Empty can be a valid result. It can also mean:

  • The location is inaccessible.
  • The wrong folder was selected.
  • The disk disconnected.
  • Thresholds or ignore rules exclude candidates.
  • Cloud files are not local.
  • macOS or another app already removed the data.

Check these conditions and rescan before concluding that files are absent.
