Wait for intensive work
A large scan or comparison can temporarily make the interface less responsive. Check disk activity and allow time before force quitting.
Stop safely
If there is no progress for an extended period, avoid disconnecting storage during a removal. Force quit only when the app cannot finish or cancel.
Reproduce with a smaller scope
Restart the Mac, update diCleaner, and test the same tool on a small noncritical folder. If that works, narrow the original location to identify a problematic branch or file.
Check storage
Confirm the disk remains mounted, unlocked, healthy, and writable. Cloud placeholders and network disconnections can stall file access.
Report the issue
Include the tool, stage, selected location, approximate file count, exact time, macOS version, diCleaner version, and whether the issue repeats. Preserve the crash report but redact private paths when sharing.
Do not reproduce a removal crash repeatedly with important files.
