Secure Vaults may be available only in certain diCleaner editions. Confirm availability before planning a workflow around it.

Prepare

Choose a healthy local location with sufficient free space. Avoid removable or synchronized storage unless the feature explicitly supports that workflow.

Create a strong unique credential and store it in a trusted password manager or other secure record. Do not rely on memory alone for irreplaceable data.

Create and test

  1. Open Privacy → Secure Vaults.
  2. Choose the create action.
  3. Select the supported location and options.
  4. Set and confirm the credential.
  5. Add a noncritical test file.
  6. Lock the vault.
  7. Reopen it and verify the test file.

Before adding important data

Understand whether adding moves or copies the source. Confirm how export, backup, and recovery work.

A vault protects access; it does not replace backup. Keep a tested independent copy according to the supported vault format.
