Must I approve every request?
No. Approve only the access needed for the task you chose. A denied location may be skipped or produce an incomplete result.
Are Home Folder Access and Full Disk Access the same?
No. Home-folder authorization selects a folder scope, primarily for the App Store edition. Full Disk Access is a macOS privacy permission for certain protected locations.
Does Full Disk Access upload my disk?
No. It changes which supported local locations macOS allows diCleaner to inspect. Online Information & Comments is a separate optional service.
Why does a folder prompt return?
The previous picker may have been cancelled, a subfolder may have been selected, saved authorization may have been removed, or the folder or app copy may have changed.
Will revoking access restore deleted files?
No. Revocation affects future access. It does not reverse a completed action.
Why is a result smaller than Finder?
The scope, permissions, scan thresholds, ignore rules, cloud placeholders, links, snapshots, and timing can differ.
Can diCleaner read another user’s files?
Normal macOS ownership and privacy controls apply. Do not attempt to access another account without authorization.
Does administrator approval permanently grant root access?
No. A macOS prompt authorizes a specific protected operation under system rules.
What should I do after changing a permission?
Quit and reopen diCleaner when required, then start a new scan rather than relying on the previous result.
