Battery information can include current charge, charging state, power source, and supported health details. Availability depends on Mac hardware and macOS.
Evaluate battery drain
Compare similar workloads over time. Display brightness, video, wireless activity, external devices, background sync, temperature, and processor load all change battery life.
A short remaining-time estimate can fluctuate as the workload changes.
Battery health
Battery capacity decreases naturally with age and cycles. Use macOS Battery settings and system service information for Apple’s supported condition reporting.
Unexpected drain
Check CPU activity, screen brightness, browser tabs, video calls, cloud synchronization, and connected accessories. Restart an application that remains active after its work is finished.
Battery temperature
On supported portable Macs, diCleaner can display a current battery-temperature reading. The value can change with charging, room temperature, processor load, airflow, and connected devices.
Not every Mac or macOS version exposes this sensor. Treat the reading as context rather than a health score, and compare it under similar conditions.
Safety
If a battery is swollen, damaged, unusually hot, or causes the enclosure to deform, stop using the Mac and contact qualified service. Software cleanup is not a remedy for physical battery damage.
