Scan
The tool reads supported file information. Cancelling can leave an incomplete result, but scanning alone does not remove files.
Review
The result is a proposed set of candidates. Checkboxes represent the current selection, not completed changes.
Confirmation
The confirmation summarizes the requested action. Cancel returns without applying that action. For supported personal-file and application tools, review Move to Trash before proceeding:
- When enabled, successful items can normally be recovered from Trash until it is emptied.
- When disabled, successful items are deleted directly and cannot be recovered from Trash.
diCleaner initially enables Move to Trash for supported user-managed content and remembers your explicit choice separately for each module. Always read the current confirmation instead of assuming that every tool uses the same method. Trash cleanup, backups, Secure Remove, and some specialized operations are permanent by design.
Authorization
macOS can request folder access or administrator approval. Authorize only the tool and target you selected.
Action
Removal, uninstall, or setting changes are in progress. Keep required disks connected and avoid quitting.
Completion
Review successful, skipped, and failed items. A selected size is not necessarily the amount actually removed.
Run a new scan when you need the current file-system state.
