The Files area provides several views of storage so you can decide what is worth keeping.
Space Analyzer
Space Analyzer scans a selected folder or disk and visualizes how folders contribute to total usage. Select a segment to drill down, or choose an individual file to inspect it.
Focused searches
- Large & Old Files combines size and age so forgotten files stand out.
- Duplicates compares files to find duplicate content, not just matching names.
- Similar Photos groups visually similar images for manual review.
- Screenshots gathers screenshots in one place.
- Downloads helps review files accumulated in your Downloads folder.
Review before deleting
Keep at least one copy of every duplicate group. Be careful with files stored in synchronized folders such as iCloud Drive: deleting a synchronized item can remove it from other devices too.
If a path is unfamiliar, use Online Information & Comments when available. With access set to Ask Next Time, the confirmation shows the descriptive text that will be sent; the file itself is not uploaded.
