Google Drive
Google Drive may add a login item so its desktop app can start automatically and keep your selected files and folders in sync.
What is Google Drive?
Google Drive is Google's desktop sync client for Drive files on your Mac. Its startup item is typically used to launch the app or a helper at login so cloud files, shared drives, and desktop sync features stay available in the background.
Safety overview
Status: Mostly safe
This is generally safe when it comes from the official Google Drive app. Disabling or removing its startup behavior can stop automatic syncing, delay file availability, or prevent background status updates until you open the app manually.
Recommendation: Keep it if you actively use Google Drive for desktop syncing or shared work files. If you do not use Google Drive, you can disable its login startup and confirm syncing is no longer needed before removing the app.
