Use Contact Time to compare suitable calling or meeting times across saved locations and Local Time.
Steps
- On World Clock, tap Contact Time (the two-person icon in the upper-left corner).
- Tap Select Cities, choose two to five locations, and tap Done.
- Choose a date and use the 24-hour ring to preview a time across the selected locations.
- Open Edit Preferred Hours to set the daily start and end hours. These hours apply in each location’s own time zone.
- Review the suggested overlap and each location’s displayed date and time.
- Use Save This Time, Share, or Add to Calendar for the selected time. Review the calendar event before saving it.
Read the colors
- Green: every selected location is in daylight and within preferred hours.
- Orange: every selected location is in daylight, but the time falls outside preferred hours for at least one location.
- Dark gray: the time is within preferred hours for every location, but at least one is at night.
If the selected date has no suitable time, try a different date or adjust the preferred hours. When you open the planner for today and no suitable upcoming time remains, it may move to a suitable time on a later date; check the displayed date before sharing.
Before you finish
- Compare dates as well as times when locations are on different sides of midnight.
- A preferred end time includes that exact time, not the rest of the hour. For example, an end of 20:00 includes 20:00 but not 20:30.
- The planner uses your chosen hours and daylight calculations; it does not check other people’s calendar availability.
- The Contact Time Home Screen widget uses the planner’s selected cities and preferred hours. It is available on iOS 17.6 or later in this version.
