Does clearing recent items delete documents?
Supported recent-item cleanup normally removes history references, not originals. Read the category confirmation.
Does clearing the current clipboard remove pasted copies?
No. Clipboard Cleanup empties the current general macOS clipboard. It cannot remove content already pasted or stored by another application, and it does not clear a separate clipboard manager’s history.
Should I remove all photo metadata?
Not necessarily. Capture time, location, authorship, and technical fields can be useful. Preserve an original and clean a sharing copy.
Can metadata removal hide visible information?
No. Faces, addresses, screens, and other visible content remain in the image.
Is Secure Remove recoverable?
Treat it as irreversible. Backups or other copies are the practical recovery source.
Does Secure Remove erase cloud copies?
No. Manage synchronized and historical copies through the cloud provider.
Are vaults available in every edition?
No. Availability can differ by edition.
Is a vault a backup?
No. Maintain a tested independent backup and protect the credential needed to access it.
