File names and folder paths can reveal people, customers, projects, medical topics, finances, or an account name even when file contents remain private.

Use neutral names when practical. Review paths displayed in screenshots, support reports, and Online Information & Comments confirmations.

Crop or redact unnecessary path components before sharing. Do not rename managed application data merely for privacy; use its owning app or keep the path out of the report.

Metadata cleaning does not rename a file, and secure removal of one file does not erase its name from backups, recent lists, messages, or logs.
